Dear KBS website visitor,

It is both a privilege and honor to write this message from the Director’s chair as part of the Kuwait Bilingual School (KBS) Community. KBS has been established since 1998, and was the first independent educational institution formed to serve the needs of families in Al Jahra and surrounding areas.

Over the years and under the leadership of Mr. Saleh Al Mekhlef, Chairman of the School, we have grown from about 45 students in Kindergarten (KG) to over 1500 students from Pre-KG to grade 12 and we recently graduated our first class of seniors in May 2015.

This website is a reflection of the school’s vision and mission. It is a bilingual communication tool and aims at providing parents, both current and prospective, with as much information as possible about our programs. We also post regular updates to show the learning happening both in our classrooms and during extra curricular activities, as well as information about other school related events.

In May 2013, KBS became an International Baccalaureate World School, authorized at the primary level (PYP), (Pre-KG to grade 5). In May 2015, we were accepted as a candidate school for the Middle Years Program (MYP), which will extend the authorization to grade 10. In addition, we recently received whole school accreditation status with the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges, U.S.A., (March 2016).

We are very proud of our new “state of the art” campus. Our improved facilities will enable us to expand and improve our programs, especially in the areas of sport and performing arts. True to the original vision, the facility will also be open to serve the wider community during after-school hours with many exciting courses and workshops on offer.

Parents and other visitors are always welcome to visit our school to see us “in action” as we strive to prepare our “Children of Today” with the skills necessary to become global citizens in the 21st century and help them on their way to become “Leaders of Tomorrow.”
